We are searching for a Merchandise Planning Assistant to join Totokaelo; a luxury retail company. The MERCHANDISE PLANNING ASSISTANT will be responsible for supporting the allocation and distribution of inventory across a multi-channel platform. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, detail-oriented, and strong communicator, who will thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone that can intuitively grasp the analytical needs of the role and easily collaborate with a variety of diverse, cross-functional teams.


  • Provide support in the subclass level planning and forecasting of sales, inventory, markdowns and gross margin to ensure implementation of total company strategies
  • Review SKU level stock on hand, stock on order to make recommendations and execute allocation of inventory
  • Track shipments to ensure timely delivery and proper distribution of stock
  • Ensure location matrices align with merchandising brand strategies
  • Run standard daily and independent reports for use in analysis
  • Identify and make recommendations for replenishment product and categories
  • Assist in updating the Open-to-Buy
  • Provide backup to other members of the merchandising / operational teams as needed: setting up new items in system, submitting price changes, entering and editing purchase orders and management of delivery logs
  • Support with other projects and tasks from Planning Manager and CFO on a as needed basis


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Business Administration, Mathematics, or related degree preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; specifically, Excel
  • Understanding of basic retail math
  • Must be flexible and work well with all types of personalities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to change priorities and multi-task
  • Strong work ethic, eager, fun, and driven
  • Enjoy an entrepreneurial and innovative environment


  • 2+ years’ of planning, buying, or relevant experience; forecasting sales, inventory, or supply chain experience preferred
  • Previous retail experience: store or corporate setting
  • Experience in inventory management
  • Exposure to retail and/or e-commerce reporting tool such as Teamwork   or Magento
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics
  • Passion for business trends in retail/fashion
  • Pulse on what’s happening in the industry and not afraid to share it
