Senior Accountant

We’re currently seeking a detail-oriented and energetic full-time Sr. Accountant who is a highly analytical AND creative thinker. The ideal individual desires to gain experience in, and a deeper understanding of, accounting concepts, all while working in an entrepreneurial and creative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the AP Coordinator to process payments by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices
  • Work with the AP Coordinator to pay vendors; resolve purchase orders, contracts, invoices and/or payment discrepancies; ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Manage vendor credit relationships including new credit applications, credit lines, and outstanding balances to ensure orders ship
  • Book payroll journal entries
  • Manage corporate credit card program
  • Maintain accounting and vendor files
  • Prepare bank recs and manage treasury transactions
  • Process all account reconciliations monthly including merchant account and inventory balances
  • Prepare monthly sales tax reports, prepare checks, and ensure timely filing
  • Post daily sales and returns to accounting software
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Detail-oriented; highly accurate; analytical
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • A Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited University

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Economics, or Business
  • Interest in fashion or retail
